An Interview with Regina Joy Franklin Featured

What is your full name?  Regina Joy Franklin
Where were you born? Springfield, MO.
What was your first job? Sales at Sears.
How did you get that job? Filled out an application.
Did you like it?  It was okay
What did you get paid?  I do not remember, I think is was a little over minimum wage.
Where did you graduate?  In high school I graduated from "Country Day School" - It is where the embassy kids go in San Jose, Costa Rica. I graduated from Baptist Bible College with a degree in Missions and finished my Master's degree in Intercultural Studies.
What was one of your most memorable times as a teenager?  Playing ball with my youth department.
Did your family go to church when you were a child? Why or why not?  Yes, because they loved the Lord. 
Who was your favorite president? Why?  Reagan, because he loved America, he love the people, and he loved God.
How has the world changed since you were my age?  A lot more electronics, however, I'm not sure if that makes you do any more or not.
What is your favorite food?  Fruit
If you could relive one experience in your life, what would it be?  Hiking in all the national parks with my family.
What is the best thing about getting older?  More confidence and security, because you understand the people around you.
What is the worst thing?  Less time to do what your getting better at.
Did you discover that your older friends/relatives has similar interests to your own?  Yes 
What did you learn from his/her life experiences that you could apply in your own life?  That the older you get, the less time you have to do what your good at. 
What are you good at?  My husband and I are foreign church planters.
How many churches have you planted?  Four in Cuba that now total more than Seven. Two in the Dominican Republic and the newest one is in Haiti. 
Was it hard to start that many churches?  Yes, very hard, however we were well trained. It also has very little to do with you, rather it is all about your relationship with the Lord.
Have you ever felt like your life was in danger?  Yes, many times.
Which was the worst?  My appendix ruptured in Cuba in 2004.  I was in ICU for 8 days.
How was the hospital?  You would have to live there to understand it. Its very much third world. 
Of all the countries you have lived in which is your favorite?  They all have positives and negatives. I don't believe though you live where you want, you go where you are called. So right now my favorite is the Dominican Republic.
That sounds complicated?  Not at all, when you do what the Lord asks, it couldn't be more simple.
